Populations

Tweens or Pre-Teens

Ages 10 -12 years old

Stuck between childhood and adolescence, tweens and preteens can face many challenges. This period is often a vulnerable time marked by rapid changes and transitions. Tweens are on the cusp of puberty, and they may start feeling the complexity of peer and academic pressure.

This time can be undoubtedly difficult for both tweens and their parents. Tweens can benefit from having a safe place in therapy to process these new experiences and emotions. Therapy can also help with building self-esteem and developing healthy coping skills for stress management. This therapy usually entails both a combination of individual work and a parent support component. Concrete coping skills and concepts through the CBT and DBT philosophies are consistently reviewed as well as providing coaching to apply the concepts outside of session.
